Enabling medical transactions in Green Bits allows you to categorize a customer as a Patient, which opens up additional fields such as medical ID and caregiver that you can record in Green Bits for easy reference.
You can also customize which taxes are applicable to medical sales, if any, and the register will automatically remove taxes as appropriate. Alternatively, set up Patient Pricing to keep all sales at an even dollar amount and avoid dealing with change.
- Go to Store Options and check the box Enable Medical Transactions.
- Go to the Taxes page. Select any taxes that patients should be excluded from (usually sales tax), then select which product types under Exclude patients to make sure they don't get charged sales tax on those items.
- When you start a new transaction, you'll be asked to choose between Medical and Recreational.
- Look up the patient. New patients can be added by selecting Add. Finish out the transaction as usual.
