There are some situations where you might need to destroy inventory, such as if you have sniffer jars from a vendor that's no longer in business. Here's how to take care of this in Green Bits.
2. Search the lot number you need to destroy
If you don't intend to destroy the entire lot, split the lot first.
4. Enter a Reason and notes
5. The status of the lot changes to Destruction Scheduled
After 72 hours you will receive an email notification that lot is ready to be destroyed. Until that time, you can cancel destruction from the Actions menu.
6. Destroy the lot in Green Bits
In the Actions menu, Destroy will now be an available option. Once you click and confirm the destruction, the status will change to Destroyed. This cannot be undone, and at this point the product must be destroyed.
Tip: Use the Status filter to view lots in each status.
7. Physically destroy the item(s)
The WSLCB has not advised Green Bits as to any preferred or required method of destruction, and we recommend you consult a WSLCB officer for official guidance.
Our recommended best practice is to render the product unusable in some way (such as grinding, smashing, and/or mixing with an adulterating substance such as sand or cat litter) to prevent an unauthorized third party from obtaining and using your waste product.
