Barcodes (SKUs) have two purposes in Greenbits: it's the only tracking number for some items (depending on state and type of item) and it's used to generate barcodes for scanning at the Register.
For all states
A Barcode (SKU) is a unique number that Greenbits uses to generate a barcode. You can print the barcode onto labels, and your budtenders can scan them at the Register. The barcode label connects to the Barcode (SKU), and the Barcode (SKU) connects to your Greenbits inventory.
For states that track cannabis
- Each Package or Lot will have at least one Barcode (SKU) to generate barcode labels. The barcode connects to the Barcode (SKU), and the Barcode (SKU) connects to the Package ID/Lot Number for reporting.
- If you convert or merge inventory, Packages and Lots can have multiple Barcodes (SKUs).
- In addition to a Barcode (SKU), Packages also have Package IDs, and Lots also have Lot Numbers.
For states that do not track cannabis yet
- A Barcode (SKU) is a tracking number for an order on a manifest.
- When you receive a manifest, you'll assign Barcode (SKUs) to orders of Products.
- As you sell inventory items from the Barcode (SKU), Greenbits deducts quantity from the Barcode (SKU).
For non-cannabis items in all states
- A Barcode (SKU) is a tracking number for an order on a manifest.
- When you receive a manifest, you'll assign Barcodes (SKUs) to orders of non-cannabis Products.
- As you sell inventory items from the Barcode (SKU), Greenbits deducts quantity from the Barcode (SKU).
